Meet the Astrocats

CPT Hobbes

Captain Hobbes is charming, lucky, and a master of all trades (weapons, ships, fighting). But his ego is bigger than a space station, he can’t let go of family drama, and thinks only of himself (until his luck runs out). He craves fame and loves a good challenge. A “hold my beer” kind of guy.

Everyone thinks he’s a hero, except his crew (who dodge his crazy plans more than enemies). He’s trying to live up to his famous family name, but his super successful brother makes him look bad. Lately, though, Hobbes has been leading missions without causing mass casualties. Barely. His boss can’t stand him and wants him gone, but Hobbes knows messing up means losing his job and medals (the ultimate symbol of worth in his mind). So, he keeps pushing his luck, one near-death experience at a time.

Sergeant Skully

SGT Skully brings boundless energy and unwavering determination to the team. He’s eager to learn and always ready to lend a paw. However, his inexperience and trusting nature can sometimes lead him astray.

Driven by a strong moral compass instilled by his parents, both police cats tragically lost in the line of duty, Skully strives to be a hero himself. He idolizes Captain Hobbes, viewing him as the embodiment of heroism. This hero worship can cloud Skully’s judgment, as Hobbes’s moral code is…flexible, to say the least. Skully’s unwavering belief in his captain creates internal conflict when Hobbes’s actions clash with Skully’s ingrained sense of right and wrong.

Despite these challenges, Skully’s optimism and dedication make him a valuable asset. With experience and guidance, he has the potential to become the true hero he aspires to be.

General Goey

General Goey, a seasoned leader and tactician, is a feline with a chip on her shoulder. Her family boasts a long military history, yet it pales in comparison to the illustrious Hobbes lineage. This fuels a burning desire to prove herself, a pressure that weighs heavily. Goey’s strength lies in meticulous planning and flawless execution. Her marksmanship is unmatched, and she’s well-versed in a variety of weaponry.

However, her world is turned upside down by Captain Hobbes. Where Goey thrives on calculated strategies, Hobbes succeeds with chaotic improvisation and, some might whisper, sheer dumb luck. Goey can’t stand his reckless disregard for tactics, and her frustration borders on the obsessive. Despite her animosity, Goey respects the Hobbes name and the victories he brings (however unconventional they may be). Driven by a desire to lift her own family’s legacy and defeat the enemy that has ravaged countless planets, Goey remains a formidable leader, even if secretly bewildered by Hobbes’ brand of heroism.

Staff Sergeant Beans

Staff Sergeant Beans is the FSP’s walking rulebook. With an encyclopedic memory and a sharp wit, he thrives on punctuality, reliability, and smooth operation. Beans takes immense pride in both his career and his ability to handle any situation with proper protocol.

However, Beans’ world is turned upside down by Captain Hobbes. Where Beans meticulously plans missions, Hobbes relies on chaotic improvisation (and perhaps a touch of dumb luck). Beans’ frustration with the Captain’s disregard for regulations is legendary. He can’t stand the feeling of not being in control, especially when “the book” ends up literally out the airlock. While their working relationship is strained, to say the least, Beans remains dedicated to his duty, a constant force for order amidst the FSP’s often-unconventional crew.

Lieutenant Grace

Lieutenant Grace is the brains and beauty of the FSP. A whiz with tech and communication, she can talk her way out of anything. Despite her confidence on the job, Grace sometimes doubts herself and hides her intelligence, a quirk from being overlooked and teased as a child.

The Guppy Empire’s attack on her home planet shattered her life. She was separated from her family in the chaos, resulting in Grace joining the FSP. Their resources offer a flicker of hope in finding them. She worked hard and strategically secured a comfortable (and drama-free) position, allowing her to keep searching after her shifts. While her beauty attracts admirers on the ship, Grace keeps her crewmates at arm’s length, focused on her personal mission: reuniting with her family.

Warrant Officer Walker

Walker’s a whiz with anything mechanical. Shy and easily lost in the whir of gears and hum of circuits, her passion lies in taking broken things and making them whole again. This focus fuels her unwavering determination to help her older brother, Wobbles.

The sole survivor of a Guppy Empire attack, Walker was found by FSP soldiers amidst the wreckage of her city. Reunited with Wobbles, a frontline mechanic left physically and emotionally scarred by the war, Walker saw the pain in his eyes. Witnessing his struggles, she vowed to stand by him, her skills becoming an anchor in his recovery. Walker joined the FSP not for glory, but to ensure Wobbles never faces the front lines again. She’s his silent guardian, a testament to the unwavering bond between siblings.

Warrant Officer Wobbles

Wobbles is the strongest member of the crew and the FSP’s top mechanic. Despite his imposing physique, Wobbles has a kind heart and a calming presence. He carries the weight of past battles, haunted by survivor’s guilt and the loss of his hometown. Shame gnaws at him for not being there to protect his family, particularly his little sister, Walker.

Driven by a fierce protectiveness, Wobbles found solace in the FSP. He enlisted young, dreaming of defending his home on the front lines. His chance came, but the Guppy Empire’s attack proved brutal. Waking up in a hospital bed, missing a leg and facing the loss of his squad and hometown, Wobbles spiraled into despair. Then, a beacon of hope – Walker, his little sister, had survived. Holding her close, he vowed to safeguard her and never let her face such darkness. Though initially resistant, Wobbles couldn’t stop Walker from joining the FSP. His pride in her is matched only by his determination to protect her and his crew, becoming a shield against the dangers of space.
